Sources Policy
The site uses a hierarchy of evidence. Official facts come first, community databases are credited for structured game data, and unconfirmed claims are either omitted or clearly labeled.
Where our information comes from
- Official platform facts: the over the hill Steam store page is used for developer, publisher, platform, release date, co-op support and store description information.
- Structured community data: OverTheHill.app, OverTheHillDB, MapRunner and Wikily are used for vehicle unlock routes, wildlife records, map markers and similar in-game references.
- Supporting coverage: third-party articles may provide context, but the database entry keeps a direct link to the source that supplies the concrete value.
Verification and dating
Guide front matter and database pages show the relevant content date. A code is marked verified only when an official source confirms it. Community-only information is not promoted to “verified” status merely because several pages repeat it.
Uncertainty
When a source omits drivetrain figures, spawn timing, weather conditions or another field, we leave it out and state the limitation. Rumors are either excluded or clearly marked as unverified.
